Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Account Manager, Large Commercial Lines based in the United States.

This is an opportunity for an experienced Property & Casualty insurance professional to manage a portfolio of sophisticated middle-market and large commercial accounts across diverse industries. You will oversee complex insurance programs, including accounts generating more than $20,000 in commissionable revenue, while delivering exceptional client service and supporting long-term retention. Working closely with Risk Advisors, carriers, and internal service teams, you will use your technical expertise to address coverage needs and ensure accurate policy administration. The role combines independent account ownership, relationship management, and collaboration in a dynamic environment. You will also contribute to process improvements and help develop less experienced team members while continuing to strengthen your insurance market knowledge.

Accountabilities
  • Manage and service a portfolio of commercial insurance accounts across a variety of industries, risk profiles, and levels of complexity.
  • Coordinate new business and renewal activities, leveraging shared services to support efficient and accurate account management.
  • Review policies and coverage documents for accuracy, identify potential coverage gaps or concerns, and recommend appropriate follow‑up.
  • Support carrier marketing activities and maintain productive relationships with insurance carrier partners.
  • Prepare and maintain insurance applications, loss runs, schedules, proposals, and coverage summaries.
  • Deliver timely, accurate, and professional service to clients, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Communicate proactively to coordinate account needs, resolve service issues, and ensure expectations are consistently met.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, service efficiency, and the overall client experience.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of insurance products, coverage options, carrier resources, and market trends through ongoing learning and professional development.
  • Support the onboarding, development, and knowledge‑sharing of less experienced service team members.
  • Ensure compliance with agency procedures, quality standards, and documentation requirements.
  • Participate in training, professional development activities, agency initiatives, and cross‑functional projects.
  • Use Microsoft Office, agency management systems, carrier platforms, and AI tools such as Copilot and ChatGPT to improve productivity and service delivery.
  • Perform additional responsibilities and collaborate across teams to support client needs and broader business objectives.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of commercial lines insurance experience, with a strong focus on middle‑market and large commercial accounts.
  • Active Property & Casualty insurance license in good standing.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of commercial insurance coverages, policy interpretation, and business risk exposures.
  • Proven experience managing complex commercial accounts, renewals, and policy documentation.
  • Strong understanding of underwriting practices, carrier appetites, and current insurance market conditions.
  • Ability to independently manage client service needs and resolve routine to moderately complex issues.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and attention‑to‑detail skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines in a high‑pressure environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with clients, carriers, and colleagues.
  • Collaborative approach and ability to support the development of newer team members.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, agency management systems, and carrier platforms; experience with Applied EPIC is preferred.
  • Familiarity with AI productivity tools and the ability to use them effectively in day‑to‑day work.
  • Self‑motivated, adaptable, resilient, and committed to continuous learning and service excellence.
  • Must be authorized to work full‑time in the United States without employer sponsorship.
Benefits
  • Estimated annual base salary range of $76,600–$115,000, depending on experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education.
  • Flexible work arrangement, with the option to work fully remotely from an approved location or follow a hybrid schedule.
  • Hybrid option based around approximately three days per week onsite in Glastonbury, Connecticut, with remote flexibility subject to manager approval.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company matching.
  • Paid time off and paid holidays.
  • Company‑paid life and disability insurance.
