Job summary

Advanced Programs Inc. (API) seeks a Senior Account Manager to lead strategic relationships with U.S. DoD, State, and intelligence accounts. You will own customer relationships, drive revenue growth, and align customer requirements with API’s technical teams.

In this role, you’ll manage complex programs, coordinate across engineering, program management, and operations, and deliver accurate forecasts. A strong background in government contracting and exceptional communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 7–10 years of account management in defense/government contracting.
• Experience managing multimillion-dollar accounts preferred.
• Ability to interpret regulations and prepare proposals.
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Owns and manages key customer relationships as primary contact for assigned accounts.
• Develops account plans focusing on growth, retention, and long-term opportunities.
• Engages with customers to understand mission requirements and priorities.
• Leads the full sales lifecycle including qualification, pipeline, capture, and proposals.
• Coordinates with engineering, PM, operations, and leadership to ensure delivery and compliance.
• Forecasts bookings and manages action items with timely follow-up.
