Job summary

Western Governors University is seeking a Senior Technical Accessibility Specialist to join the User Experience team. You will lead accessibility audits, mentor teammates, and partner with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver accessible experiences across student and staff products.

You will apply WCAG, Section 508, and ADA knowledge, stay current with industry trends, and develop guidelines for designers and developers. Travel up to 20% may be required.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of WCAG, Section 508, and ADA.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for accessibility.
• Experience with accessibility on mobile platforms (iOS & Android).

Responsibilities

• Lead accessibility audits and remediation for university platforms and products.
• Provide strategic accessibility guidance to designers, product managers, and developers.
• Mentor and train team members on ADA awareness and accessibility best practices.
• Develop and maintain accessibility evaluation methodologies and guidelines.
