Job summary

Riot Games in Los Angeles is seeking a Senior Accessibility User Experience Designer to join the Central Product Accessibility team. You will shape accessible player experiences by collaborating with design and engineering to define requirements, reviews, and best practices.

You'll translate user insights into actionable design strategies and help train other designers on accessibility, ensuring games and web experiences meet WCAG and WCART standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of UX design experience.
• 3+ years of accessibility experience.
• Expert knowledge of accessible and inclusive design principles.
• Strong understanding of core game design technologies (Unity, Unreal).
• Experience with HTML, JavaScript, XML, CSS and related UI tech.
• Experience with UI prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch or Adobe XD).
• Experience using screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver).
• Experience with keyboard navigation and assistive technology.
• Knowledge of WCAG, WAI-ARIA, Section 508 C and ability to apply them.
• Empathy for diverse users, user-centered design, and strong analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Creating guidelines and tools to help designers, developers, and architects comply with accessibility standards.
• Create design requirements for both game and web products.
• Work with UX designers to define strategy, roadmap, and priorities.
• Perform accessibility reviews and provide feedback on designs and features.
• Incorporate accessibility requirements into design documents and specifications.
• Manage the photosensitive epilepsy flash rate testing process and training.
• Propose improvements to existing processes and features to increase usability.
• Work with UX researchers to identify and gather data around features.
• Use data insights and user feedback to make recommendations to product teams.
• Create Accessibility personas and user stories.
• Triage and prioritize accessibility issues and provide guidance for product teams.
• Train and educate product teams on accessibility requirements.
• Audit games and web applications for compliance with best practices and accessibility standards.
• Keep up to date with current changes and trends in accessibility.
