Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Product Designer, Accessibility to lead company-wide accessibility efforts. You will define strategy, drive governance, and partner across design, engineering, research, and legal to deliver inclusive experiences at scale.

You’ll shape design system integration, conduct participatory research, and test with assistive technologies, ensuring accessibility deeply informs product quality and customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience designing accessible products across web, mobile, and desktop.
• Familiarity with WCAG and assistive technologies.
• Ability to pilot inclusive design within design systems and engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

• Define OpenAI’s accessibility strategy, roadmap, governance, priorities, and metrics.
• Design and ship accessible experiences, removing barriers across journeys.
• Embed accessibility into design systems, components, tokens, and documentation.
• Center disabled people via participatory research and usability testing with assistive tech.
• Lead audits, remediation priorities, and ongoing validation across platforms.
