Job summary

Ohio State University’s College of Optometry is seeking a Senior Academic Program Services Specialist 3 to drive recruitment for Doctor of Optometry students. This role reports to the Assistant Dean of Student Services and works with the Office of Student Services to enhance the student life cycle from recruitment through graduation.

The position requires travel and on-site presence three days per week with two remote days, offering comprehensive benefits and a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least four years professional experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
• Ability to create and execute outcome-oriented plans.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Create, plan, and execute an annual outcomes-oriented recruitment plan.
• Cultivate relationships with external agencies, organizations, and other schools to diversify applicant pool.
• Participate in on- and off-campus recruitment activities and represent the college in diverse settings.
• Collect prospect data and track communications with prospective students.
• Develop strategies to involve faculty, alumni, and current students in recruitment.
• Conduct scheduled and drop-in college and campus tours.
• Meet prospective students in-person and virtually; communicate via email and phone.
• Maintain knowledge of best practices in recruitment and evaluate initiatives.
• Collaborate with student services to plan the admissions visit day program.
