Qualifications

• 4-6 years working in an administrative department with Academic personnel and payroll responsibilities.
• Advanced knowledge of University Academic Personnel and Payroll policies, procedures, and organizational structure.
• Detailed working knowledge of on-line personnel and payroll system and forms; UCPath, QDB, OPUS, Interfolio, Tracker I-9 and other campus tools.
• Knowledge of UCLA CALL and Academic Personnel Manual (APM) policies and UC payroll procedures.
• Proficiency with UCPath, QDB, OPUS, Interfolio, Tracker I-9 and related tools.
• Ability to analyze tasks, coordinate multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and solve problems.
• Excellent organizational skills and confidentiality.
• Advanced mathematical and quantitative skills; strong Excel abilities.
• Superior writing and editing skills and professional communication.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate payroll and personnel actions for biology units within Life Sciences.
• Maintain electronic personnel records and track sabbatical accruals and leaves.
• Process special compensation actions (admin comp, NSP, summer sessions).
• Submit funding entries and direct retros; resolve payroll/benefits issues.
• Serve as UCPath and Tracker I-9 subject matter expert to campus units.
• Prepare reports and data to inform strategic decisions for department leaders.
