Job summary

Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College seeks a Senior Academic Coordinator for the School of Public Policy (PPM) to support students, faculty, and external partners. You will ensure smooth program operations and serve as a central hub for coordination across initiatives.

You will collaborate with the Associate Dean, Program Directors, and staff to drive events, capstones, and student mentoring while managing logistics and operational tasks.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of administrative support, student services, and higher education experience.
• A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Program & Project Support: coordinate initiatives for Associate Dean and Program Directors.
• Event Management: plan capstone presentations, speaker series, and student treks.
• Student Mentorship: recruit and supervise student work‑study team.
• Operational Excellence: handle financial transactions, travel requests, and adjunct hiring logistics.
• Capstone Coordination: guide student teams, manage partner agreements, and presentations.
