Job summary

Carnegie Mellon University’s Mellon College of Science – Biological Sciences invites applications for a Senior Academic Program Manager. You will administer courses, enrollment, and registrar coordination, while supporting curriculum management and advising activities for undergraduate and HPP students.

You will lead instructional support, event planning for commencements, and engagement programs, including research registration and grants, with supervision of work-study staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Biological Sciences or related field preferred.
  • Experience in higher education, administrative support, student services, purchasing, and/or academic program management.
  • Education marketing/outreach experience preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficiency with Google and Microsoft suites.
  • Background check required.

Responsibilities

  • Administer courses, rosters, and registration processes in the student information system; generate enrollment reports.
  • Coordinate exam scheduling with Registrar’s Office and communicate updates to faculty.
  • Support curriculum management using catalogs/websites and Stellic; track policy changes.
  • Manage faculty advisor scheduling and advising communications; triage student questions.
  • Provide operational support for instruction, grading timelines, TA coordination, and course materials.
  • Plan undergraduate diploma ceremonies and coordinate related events.
  • Support undergraduate and honors research registration and program administration.
  • Assist student engagement events, grants, and outreach; engage prospective students and alumni.
  • Supervise work-study students and coordinate volunteers for events.
