Job summary

Cintal, Inc. in Lafayette, IN, is seeking a Senior Robotics Manufacturing Engineer to lead ABB automation projects on 1st and 3rd shifts. You will program, commission, and optimize robotic cells, driving safety, quality, and throughput improvements across the engine assembly operations.

The role requires extensive ABB robot experience, hands-on shop-floor leadership, and strong collaboration with PLC/Controls and maintenance teams. Visa sponsorship is available for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related field.
• 5-15 years of experience in robotics, automation, and manufacturing engineering.
• Extensive hands-on experience programming and troubleshooting ABB industrial robots.

Responsibilities

• Program, configure, and commission ABB industrial robots and robotic work cells.
• Troubleshoot and resolve robot, controls, tooling, and automation system issues.
• Support manufacturing operations by diagnosing and correcting production downtime related to robotic systems.
• Develop, modify, and optimize ABB robot programs for new and existing manufacturing processes.
• Integrate robots with PLCs, vision systems, sensors, conveyors, and peripheral equipment.
• Lead robotic system validation, testing, startup, and commissioning activities.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cycle time, quality, safety, and OEE.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities for manufacturing issues.
• Develop standard work, training documentation, and operating procedures.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, controls, quality, maintenance, and product engineering teams.
