Job summary

ARi in Lafayette, Indiana seeks a Manufacturing Engineer Robotics Programmer to lead ABB robot programming, troubleshooting, and system integration on 1st or 3rd shift. You will optimize robot programs and companion systems, supporting engine assembly, testing, and paint operations on the shop floor.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in industrial robotics, ABB RobotStudio proficiency, and strong PLC/Controls collaboration skills to continuously improve safety, quality and throughput.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or robotics-related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of industrial robotics and manufacturing automation experience.
• Significant hands-on experience programming and troubleshooting ABB industrial robots.
• Experience with ABB RobotStudio and ABB robot controllers.
• Ability to work onsite in Lafayette, Indiana on 1st or 3rd shift.

Responsibilities

• Program, configure, troubleshoot, and commission ABB industrial robots and robotic work cells.
• Provide hands-on shop-floor troubleshooting for ABB robotics applications in engine assembly, test, and paint ops.
• Diagnose and resolve downtime related to robots, controls, tooling, sensors, and cabling.
• Develop and optimize ABB robot programs for new and existing processes.
• Collaborate with PLC/Controls Engineers to troubleshoot and implement permanent fixes.
• Lead robot system validation, startup, and commissioning activities.
• Drive continuous improvement for cycle time, OEE, reliability, safety, and quality.
