Job summary

The role requires a strategic thinker with strong budgeting, policy development, and training program oversight, plus experience with CAD-based dispatch and Next Gen 911 systems.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in police administration, business administration, information systems, or related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Minimum of three (3) years of proven experience in technical operations, communications, records management and/or administrative management.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience with CAD software, data communications and police and fire radio and console equipment.
• Experience managing a combined police and fire dispatch organization serving a population comparable to Rowlett (70,000).
• NENA Center Manager Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises Communications Center staff; assigns duties and shifts.
• Oversees training program and staff development; counsels on performance.
• Develops short- and long-range goals; formulates policies and procedures.
• Monitors regulatory changes; implements new technology and systems.
• Prepares reports and maintains performance indicators.
