Job summary

Gila River Indian Community seeks a Public Safety Telecommunicator Supervisor to lead the 9-1-1 center, dispatch emergency resources, and guide staff in CAD/RMS operations. The role demands quick, calm decisions under pressure and strong communication with police, fire, EMS, and the public.

Requires five years of 9-1-1 dispatch experience, one year of lead work, and a valid background check; Associate degree preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 5 years of 9-1-1 dispatch experience.
• One year lead experience at the level of Public Safety Telecommunicator III.
• Associate degree preferred in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Business Administration, Communications, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct 9-1-1 operations and personnel activities.
• Maintain CAD/RMS knowledge and ensure proper dispatch procedures.
• Train staff, resolve complaints, and address equipment or policy issues.
• Coordinate emergency responses and provide guidance to dispatchers.
• Prepare performance and training evaluations for subordinates.
• Handle investigations related to internal/external complaints.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
