Job summary

Samsung Electronics America, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer, 5G Air Interface Call Processing, to join the Networks Engineering organization in Plano, Texas.

The role focuses on developing product and feature requirements, performing systems and performance analysis, and leading cross-functional initiatives with R&D, engineering, and validation teams. The ideal candidate has 12+ years of wireless experience, deep knowledge of 5G concepts such as Hybrid Beamforming, Massive MIMO, and 3GPP

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in EE/CS; advanced degree beneficial.
• 12+ years of wireless industry experience required.
• Expertise in 5G concepts and air interface technologies.
• Experience with 3GPP Rel-16/17 features.
• Strong knowledge of PHY/MAC/RLC/RRC/PDCP layers.

Responsibilities

• Analyze customer requirements and translate them into system requirements.
• Perform product and feature performance analysis.
• Analyze 4G/5G Wireless Call Protocols and troubleshoot issues.
• Provide expert technical support in pre-sales and develop solutions.
• Communicate design considerations between sales and carriers.
• Educate customers on Samsung products and services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve product roll-outs.
• Lead and mentor the team as a systems architect.
• Travel occasionally.
