Job summary

Kelly Telecom in Seattle is seeking a 5G System Test Engineer to validate features and analyze performance for 5G RAN products. You will translate requirements into system test cases and execute tests to ensure customer specs are met, while closely collaborating with SEA and Samsung HQ.

Applicants should have a strong EE/Telecom background, 5G knowledge, and experience with EMS tools such as protocol analyzers, XCAL/QXDM, and Wireshark; role is in-person with a global team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in EE or Telecommunication required.
• 5+ years direct, related experience; Master’s preferred.
• Experience with EMS systems and configuring network elements.
• Experience with system testing activities: validation, test docs, and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of 5G concepts including DL/UL scheduling, beamforming, MIMO.
• Knowledge of PHY/MAC/RLC/RRC/PDCP; 3GPP Core and RAN.
• Hardware and software architecture understanding; test tools proficiency.

Looking for a 5G System Test Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for product validation, feature validation, systems and performance analysis for 5G RAN products focusing on Air interface, E2E performance, and Call Processing.
• Analyze product and feature requirements, converting them into system test cases and executing them to ensure the product meets customer specifications.
• Assist in product & feature performance analysis, evaluating new product & SW releases.
• Perform detailed analysis of 5G Wireless Protocols.
• Analyze and troubleshoot issues.
• Ensure that customer commitments are achieved according to plan.
• Work closely with various support organizations, logistics, and cross‑functional teams from SEA and Samsung HQ to achieve successful new product roll‑outs and developments.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in engineering with 5 years of directly related experience (Master’s with 3+ years’ experience preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in EE or Telecommunication required.
• Experience in EMS systems, configuring network elements, software upgrades, etc.
• Experience with system testing activities such as feature validation, test description documentation, test strategy creation, and problem troubleshooting.
• Good understanding of 5G concepts such as DL/UL scheduling, LTE power control, beamforming fundamentals, MIMO.
• Good understanding of overall wireless systems with emphasis on PHY, MAC, RLC, RRC and PDCP layers.
• Understanding of 3GPP systems: Core and RAN.
• Understanding of hardware as well as software architecture.
• Experience with test tools including protocol analyzers, XCAL/QXDM, Wireshark, Channel Emulator, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, etc.

Job Type: Full‑time, Contract. Pay: $80,531.00 - $96,983.56 per year. Work Location: In person.
