Job summary

Divergent is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to drive machining for automotive, aerospace, and defense applications. You will develop and optimize 5-axis milling programs using Siemens NX CAM, perform 3+2 and 5-axis simulations, and generate comprehensive shop floor documentation for production handoffs.

You will design fixtures and work-holding solutions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and advance new manufacturing technologies while adhering to MES and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in CNC programming, setup, and machining, with a strong focus on complex 5-axis milling.
• Experience programming and operating CNC equipment, including the use of dynamic work offsets.
• Strong understanding of machining processes, materials, cutting tools, and tooling best practices.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and applying GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Analyze new parts and develop machining strategies, tooling approaches, and work-holding concepts with DFM recommendations.
• Use Siemens NX CAM to develop, verify, and simulate 3+2 and 5-axis milling programs for first-article components and production runs.
• Produce probing programs for locating and on-machine verification.
• Program trunnion and gantry-style CNC machines, including advanced 5-axis operations.
• Create detailed setup sheets, operator instructions, and tool lists for production handoffs.
• Interpret drawings and apply GD&T to programming, machining, and inspection.
• Support additive manufacturing programs with advanced machining projects.
