Job summary

DRT Aerospace in Meriden, CT is seeking a Senior CNC Programmer with strong Siemens NX (Unigraphics) experience to drive machining excellence on complex aerospace components.

You will develop 3-, 4-, and 5-axis programs, select tooling and parameters, support first articles and production launches, and collaborate with machinists and engineers on continuous improvement while upholding AS9100 standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong Siemens NX (Unigraphics) programming experience required.
• Experience creating programs from scratch.
• Strong understanding of CNC machining, cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and materials.
• Ability to read blueprints and apply GD&T principles.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and optimize CNC programs using Siemens NX (NX Unigraphics).
• Develop complex 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machining strategies.
• Interpret blueprints, models, and GD&T requirements.
• Select tooling, cutting parameters, and machining methods to maximize efficiency.
• Support simulation, prove-outs, first articles, and production launches.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming challenges.
• Improve cycle times, machine utilization, and overall manufacturing performance.
• Create setup sheets, process documentation, and work instructions.
• Support AS9100 quality standards and aerospace manufacturing requirements.
• Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and production teams on continuous improvement initiatives.
