Job summary

Divergent is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to drive 5-axis milling, fixture design, and process development for automotive, aerospace, and defense programs. You will program with Siemens NX CAM, simulate 3+2 and 5-axis strategies, and collaborate across engineering and shop teams to deliver first-article and production parts while upholding MES and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to lawfully access information and technology subject to US export controls.
• Proficiency in CNC programming, setup, and machining, with a focus on complex 5-axis milling.
• Experience programming and operating CNC equipment, including dynamic work offsets.
• Strong understanding of machining processes, materials, tooling best practices.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Familiarity with machine shop safety protocols.
• Ability to perform light fabrication, use hand tools, and operate manual mills and lathes.
• Experience using standard metrology and inspection tools.

Responsibilities

• Analyze parts and develop machining strategies, tooling approaches and work-holding concepts.
• Use Siemens NX CAM to develop, verify, and simulate 3+2 and 5-axis milling programs.
• Produce probing programs using MSP Perfect-Part for verification.
• Program trunnion and gantry CNC machines, including 5-axis operations.
• Generate setup sheets, operator instructions, and tool lists for production handoffs.
• Interpret drawings and apply GD&T to programming, machining, and inspection.
• Support additive manufacturing programs with machining.
