Job summary

Divergent is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to drive the machining workflow for automotive, aerospace, and defense applications. You will develop 5-axis programs, simulate with NX CAM, and create comprehensive documentation for seamless production handoffs.

You will design fixtures, work-holding solutions and contribute to advanced machining projects, including additive manufacturing support. Expect collaboration with engineering and shop teams on high-rate production and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in CNC programming, setup and machining with a focus on complex 5-axis milling.
• Experience programming and operating CNC equipment, including dynamic work offsets.
• Strong understanding of machining processes, materials, tools and tooling best practices.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and apply GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Analyze new parts, develop machining strategies and tooling approaches.
• Develop and verify 3+2 and 5-axis milling programs using NX CAM.
• Create probing programs for on-machine verification.
• Program trunnion and gantry CNC machines, including advanced 5-axis operations.
• Generate setup sheets, operator instructions and tool lists.
• Collaborate with design/engineering and support additive manufacturing.
• Provide hands-on shop floor support and process refinement.
