Job summary

Venus Aerospace in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to build complex, precision hardware in a fast-moving, R&D environment. You will own multi-axis programming on 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machines and collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers to drive quality and efficiency.

The role requires 5+ years in CNC programming, setting up and operating 5-axis mills or lathes, and proficiency with Fanuc/HAAS/Okuma controls.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
5+ years CNC programming experience with 5-axis mills/lathe setup/operation.
Experience with multiple controls (Fanuc, HAAS, Okuma).
Proficiency with CATIA/DELMIA; Mastercam a plus.
Ability to read and troubleshoot G-code and GD&T.
Strong metrology and shop math skills.
Ability to work with designers in R&D environment.

Responsibilities

Program and support high-precision, quick-turn projects and small-batch production with meticulous attention to detail.
Interface with engineers, machinists, and designers to improve efficiency and quality.
Complete machining operations from blueprints and models.
Plan, program, set up, and prove parts on 3-, 4-, and 5-axis NC machines.
Provide feedback to engineering and respond to customer input to improve quality.
Print-to-part manufacture of precision tooling and rocket hardware.
Develop processes and procedures to maintain manufacturing excellence.
Advise on tooling and machine choices; contribute to shop standards.
