Job summary

Venturi Astrolab, Inc. in Hawthorne, California, is seeking a Staff CNC Programmer to lead 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC programming, setup, and on‑the‑floor operation for precision aerospace components.

The ideal candidate will write and optimize programs, select tooling, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality to improve cycle times and part quality.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification or equivalent
• 5+ years CNC programming in manufacturing using CAM software
• Experience with 5-axis CNC machining
• Experience operating/machining mill-turn or multitasking CNC equipment
• Proven ability to take CAD models through CAM programming and setup
• Experience using precision measurement tools and working to quality specs

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machines
• Program complex aerospace components with multi-sided features
• Create efficient toolpaths balancing cycle time, tool life, and accuracy
• Use CAM software to optimize toolpaths and verify G-code
• Set up machines and select tooling, offsets, and parameters
• Troubleshoot issues and improve repeatability and reliability of processes
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality teams
