Job summary

Aeva is seeking a Senior Engineer to join the CLAMS team in Mountain View, California. You will implement state estimation and online calibration for 4D LiDAR algorithms, prototype new methods, and push robust, real-time solutions to production with scalable performance.

The role requires 5+ years of C++ in Linux, expertise in Kalman/Bayesian methods and sensor fusion, and experience with ROS/ROS2 and 3D data representations. Competitive comp and stock grants.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in robotics, CS, EE or equivalent field.
• 5+ years of C++ development in Linux.
• 2+ years in extrinsic calibration methods.
• Experience with Kalman Filtering, Bayesian Methods, and Sensor Fusion (LiDAR/IMU/GNSS).
• Strong linear algebra and 3D geometry fundamentals.
• Experience deploying real-time state estimation or SLAM systems.
• Experience with 3D data representations (point clouds, meshes).
• Scripting in Python and Bash.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to Aeva’s 4D state estimation and calibration stack in production.
• Prototype novel algorithms quickly and iterate.
• Optimize code for performance and scalability.
• Adhere to coding standards and best practices.
• Own tasks with documentation and tests.
