Job summary

Aeva seeks a LiDAR Test & Calibration Engineer to develop, optimize, and support high-volume manufacturing test and calibration for LiDAR sensors. You will ensure units meet performance, quality, and reliability specs through automated testing, calibration, data analysis, and continuous improvement.

You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Product Engineering, Lidar Algorithms, and Quality teams to improve yield, throughput, and quality.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience developing test processes for optoelectronic products such as LiDAR, laser-based sensors, or imaging systems.
• Strong programming abilities in Python.
• Familiarity with statistical analysis and SPC techniques; basic networking know-how (LAN).

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and maintain manufacturing test and calibration processes for LiDAR sensors.
• Design and optimize automated production test stations, fixtures, and calibration equipment with suppliers.
• Define production test sequences, acceptance criteria, and calibration algorithms.
• Analyze LiDAR performance metrics (range, SNR, point cloud quality, etc.).
• Perform root cause analysis of manufacturing failures and implement corrective actions.
• Improve FPY, throughput, and OEE in production lines.
• Develop SPC methods to monitor manufacturing quality.
• Create and maintain calibration procedures, work instructions, and manufacturing docs.
• Support EVT/DVT/PVT and Mass Production builds; integrate test equipment with MES.
• Analyze production data with Python/SQL and identify trends; drive process improvements.
