Job summary

Waymo is seeking a graphics/game engine developer to own the 3D visualization system (EgoView) for onboard infotainment. You will design and implement the 3D rendering pipeline for the Android-based Car View using C++ and Kotlin via JNI, integrating visual assets and optimizing performance on embedded hardware.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of total software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong foundation in 3D math and shader programming.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical implementation of 3D visualization systems on onboard infotainment platforms.
• Lead the design and implementation of the 3D rendering pipeline for the 3D Car View using C++ and Kotlin via JNI.
• Integrate next-generation visual assets for the new vehicle platform and optimize shader performance to reduce GPU usage.
• Write high-quality, well-tested code and optimize performance on resource-constrained hardware.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and UX/UI designers to translate perception data into fluid animations.
