Job summary

Vail Health in Colorado is seeking a 340B Specialist who, with the Director of Pharmacy, oversees the 340B Program, ensuring HRSA and OPA compliance, program governance, and cross-functional collaboration to maximize savings and patient care.

The role partners with finance, compliance, legal, IT, and operations; supports inpatient pharmacy operations; leads audits, education, and data analysis to drive continual improvement and program integrity.

Qualifications

• 5 years Hospital Inpatient Pharmacy experience required.
• Disproportionate Share Hospital (DSH) experience preferred.
• Previous experience with Verity or other third‑party administrator (TPA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the 340B Program as subject matter expert and liaison across Pharmacy, Finance, Compliance, Legal, Revenue Cycle, Supply Chain, IT and operations.
• Ensure ongoing HRSA/OPA/340B regulatory compliance including annual recertification and audit-ready processes.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive auditing program with internal/external audits and corrective actions.
• Support the Director of Pharmacy with governance, committee meetings, and leadership update presentations.
• Foster relationships with third‑party admins, consultants, wholesalers, manufacturers and contract pharmacies to ensure compliant operations.
• Oversee 340B purchasing, inventory management, split-billing, and accumulator software across locations and service lines.
• Develop organization-wide education and training on 340B requirements for multiple teams.
• Analyze utilization, savings, reimbursement trends, and financial performance to identify opportunities for expanded benefits and efficiencies.
• Partner with leaders to support new clinics, service lines, and contract pharmacy expansions while meeting regulatory and financial requirements.
• Establish a culture of accountability, audit readiness, and process improvement to protect program integrity.
• Support inpatient pharmacy daily operations including dispensing assistance and inventory stocking.
• Model Just Culture and organizational values; maintain HIPAA compliance.
