Job summary

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 / CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent, together with an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in English and mathematics.
• Good questioning, observation and assessment skills.
• Awareness of needs of students with special educational needs and positive behaviour management approaches.

Responsibilities

• Work with teachers to understand lesson objectives and planned activities.
• Support individual students and small groups to access learning activities.
• Check students’ understanding and provide appropriate support with prompts as required.
• Encourage participation, develop thinking skills and pride in work.
• Provide constructive feedback to students and share observations with teachers.
