Job summary

Connex Education are recruiting a dedicated SEN Teacher to join a specialist SEND school in Nottingham. This is a part-time, temporary position with potential for ongoing work, requiring QTS and a DBS check.

You will work within a supportive team to deliver differentiated learning for pupils with a range of additional needs, creating a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic, social and emotional development.

Qualifications

  • Holding Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) proven by providing your Teacher Reference Number
  • Full enhanced DBS certificate
  • Completion of the Connex Education Onboarding Process
  • The ability to show a genuine desire and passion for working as a teacher
  • A minimum of 2 school-based references

Responsibilities

  • Planning and delivering engaging and appropriately differentiated learning activities to meet pupils’ individual needs.
  • Creating a positive, safe and inclusive classroom environment that supports pupils’ academic, social and emotional development.
  • Adapting teaching approaches and resources to ensure pupils can access learning and make progress.
  • Supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs and individual learning requirements.
  • Monitoring, assessing and recording pupil progress in line with school expectations.
  • Using positive and appropriate behaviour strategies to support engagement and wellbeing.
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils and developing an understanding of their individual needs.
  • Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues and other professionals to provide consistent support.
  • Contributing to planning, assessment and wider school activities as required.
  • Attending relevant staff meetings, training and professional development opportunities.
  • Following school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and behaviour policies.

About the Role

Connex Education are recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to join a specialist SEND school in Nottingham. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher with a passion for supporting pupils with additional needs and helping them to achieve their full potential.

The exact teaching phase and responsibilities are currently being confirmed, but the role will involve supporting pupils within a specialist SEND setting and delivering engaging, appropriately differentiated learning. The successful candidate will be adaptable, patient and confident in responding to a range of individual learning, communication and behavioural needs.

You will work as part of a supportive team alongside teaching assistants and other professionals to create a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment where pupils feel valued and supported.

Person Specification

To be considered for this role candidates must have / be able to demonstrate:

  • Holding Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) proven by providing your Teacher Reference Number
  • Experience of working as a teacher in a British curriculum school for a minimum of two terms since obtaining QTS.
  • Full enhanced DBS certificate
  • Completion of the Connex Education Onboarding Process
  • The ability to show a genuine desire and passion for working as a teacher.
  • A minimum of 2 school-based references

Desired But Not Essential

Previous experience teaching pupils with SEND or adapting lessons to meet a range of additional learning needs, would be highly advantageous.
