Job summary

GUARDIAN SELECTION LIMITED is seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support students in a SEN school setting, including SEN and SEMH. The role involves 1:1 and small-group support across Key Stages, working with experienced staff to help learners access the curriculum and reach their potential.

Applicants with experience as Teaching Assistant, Graduate, Support Worker, Sports Coach, or those starting a career in education are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to build positive relationships with SEN-aged students.
• Patience, resilience and adaptability when supporting learners.
• Proactive approach and willingness to work as part of a team.
• Genuine interest in supporting young people with SEN/SEMH needs.
• Previous school or education setting experience is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with additional learning needs.
• Support students across SEN subjects (e.g. English, Maths, Science).
• Assist with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff.
• Promote positive behaviour, engagement and emotional regulation.
• Monitor and track student progress and provide feedback to staff.
• Support students during lessons, transitions and unstructured times.
