Job summary

Remedy Recruitment Group is seeking a patient and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a well-resourced SEN school in Epping/Ongar, for a full-time, long-term role starting ASAP. You’ll work across primary and secondary classes providing 1:1 and small group support, alongside teachers and external professionals, to foster a calm, structured and supportive learning environment.

The ideal candidate has experience with SEN, ASD or ADHD and is comfortable supporting non-verbal pupils, with

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ASD, ADHD or complex needs
• Calm, patient and resilient approach
• Comfortable working across both primary and secondary age groups
• Confident supporting non-verbal or limited communication pupils
• Willing to support personal care where needed
• Strong team player with a proactive attitude
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes
• Supporting communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning
• Following EHCP targets and individual support plans
• Assisting with personal care where required
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals
• Helping maintain a calm, structured and positive learning environment
• Encouraging independence, confidence and social development
