Job summary

Remedy Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced English Teacher with strong SEN and SEMH experience to join an intimate SEN school in Epping. You will support pupils aged 11-18 with complex needs, delivering engaging lessons and building confidence to maximise potential.

You will work closely with SEN staff and therapists to monitor progress, adapt curricula, and maintain a safe, structured learning environment. Immediate interviews and long-term opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• QTS is required.
• PGCE or equivalent training is expected.
• Experience in SEN education, preferably at secondary level.
• Strong classroom management skills are essential.
• Patient, resilient and adaptable approach.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging and accessible lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Teach pupils between the ages of 11-18.
• Adapt curriculum content to meet a wide range of additional needs and abilities.
• Create a safe, structured, supportive learning environment.
• Build positive relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress.
• Collaborate with SEN support staff, therapists and wider school teams.
• Monitor and report pupil progress in line with school expectations.
• Support positive behaviour management across the classroom.
