Job summary

Education Authority is seeking a Part-Time Classroom Assistant (SEN) to provide educational support and care for pupils with Special Educational Needs. The role is based in Bangor and reports through the Principal via the class teacher.

The successful candidate will assist with access to the curriculum, personal care, and implementation of Education/ Care Plans, while supporting inclusive practices in and out of the classroom.

Qualifications

• Essential criteria demonstrate health and safety awareness and safeguarding knowledge.
• Ability to plan, organise and deliver learning activities in line with plans.
• Good communication and teamwork skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the support and care of pupils with special educational needs.
• Support with education plans and care plans as directed.
• Contribute to inclusive education and participation in mainstream settings.
• Assist with movement, meals, toileting and daily living tasks as required.
• Support administration and recording of pupil progress.
