Job summary

Connex Education Partnership is seeking dedicated Primary SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils across Bath & Wells MAT and local schools in Somerset and surrounding areas. Immediate starts available for full-time, part-time, temporary, and temp-to-perm roles.

Ideal candidates will have school or childcare experience, a passion for SEN and strong communication skills to work with teachers, SENCOs and pupils in diverse settings.

Qualifications

• Experience in a school, nursery, education setting or with primary-aged children.
• Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
• Patient, resilient, caring and adaptable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confident working as part of a wider school team.
• Willing to support pupils with a range of individual needs; SEN experience ideal.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.
• Help pupils access the curriculum and participate in class activities.
• Work with children with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and other learning difficulties.
• Support communication, social and emotional development.
• Assist with classroom activities and learning interventions.
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment and positive behaviour.
