Job summary

Capital University Advancement is seeking an Advancement Officer to cultivate, solicit, and steward donors, advancing the philanthropic mission of the University and Trinity Lutheran Seminary. You will manage a major gift portfolio, engage alumni, foundations, congregations, and philanthropic partners, and travel across Columbus and the U.S.

to secure support for scholarships and campus priorities. Working within the Capital University Advancement team, you will collaborate with Seminary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; MDiv or equivalent preferred.
• 3–5 years professional fundraising experience.
• Proven ability to cultivate and solicit major gifts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel regionally and nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a 100+ donor portfolio; travel regionally and nationwide.
• Raise five- to six-figure gifts.
• Collaborate with Advancement and Seminary leadership on campaigns.
• Engage TLS alumni and Lutheran networks; steward donors.
• Maintain CRM records; report progress to leadership.
• Attend TLS events and invite constituents to engagement opportunities.
• Provide ongoing stewardship of endowed funds.
