Job summary

Concordia University Chicago Foundation seeks a dynamic Vice President for Advancement. This chief advancement officer leads fundraising, alumni engagement, donor relations, and communications, reporting to the President and serving on the Executive Cabinet.

The role shapes strategies to support scholarships, campaigns, endowment growth, and campus priorities. The holder will build partnerships with LCMS communities, foundations, corporations, and donors; manage a personal portfolio of principal

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Significant experience in advancement, development, fundraising, alumni relations, or related nonprofit leadership.
• Proven track record cultivating, soliciting, closing, and stewarding major gifts.
• Experience developing and executing comprehensive fundraising strategies.
• Experience supervising advancement professionals and leading high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive and strategic leadership within the university and foundation contexts.
• Design, lead, and execute fundraising strategies, including major campaigns and donor relations.
• Lead alumni, parent and family engagement with a culture of philanthropy.
• Oversee communications, external relations, and signature university events.
• Serve as President of the University Foundation and align Foundation activities with the Board of Regents.
• Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing advancement team and manage budgets and compliance.
