Job summary

Forge Nano, Inc. seeks a Software Documentation Specialist to document automation, logic, and safety systems for ALD production supervision software. You’ll craft operator and technician manuals, procedures, and troubleshooting guides for cross‑functional teams.

The role emphasizes translating complex concepts into clear documentation, supporting software validation and continual improvement, and maintaining knowledge bases and training materials across engineering and manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Industrial Automation, Electrical Engineering, Technical Communication, or related technical discipline.
  • 3+ years of technical writing experience supporting software, industrial systems, automation equipment, or related technologies.
  • Experience with Windows desktop applications and software-based user interfaces.
  • Experience creating software user manuals, operating guides, and technical documentation.
  • Strong software testing, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and operate Forge Nano’s Windows-based semiconductor equipment HMI.
  • Develop understanding of equipment hardware, subsystems, software functionality, and workflows.
  • Document procedures and capture software/hardware interactions accurately.
  • Create user manuals, operating procedures, workflow docs, installation guides, and troubleshooting materials.
  • Capture screenshots, diagrams, and references for documentation packages.
  • Produce release notes and maintain revision-controlled documentation.
  • Ensure documentation stays accurate with software releases and updates.
  • Execute manual test cases to validate procedures and software functionality.
  • Verify software behavior and workflows with engineering teams.
  • Identify undocumented features and documentation gaps; suggest improvements.
