Job summary

Forge Nano, Inc. seeks a Senior Controls Engineer to lead automation across semiconductor ALD production equipment. You will develop scalable PLC software, define architecture standards, and ensure safety controls while mentoring junior engineers.

The role requires extensive experience in industrial automation, PLC programming, and equipment commissioning. On-site work with cross-functional teams supports our manufacturing excellence and growth.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Eng, Automation Eng or related field.
Minimum 7 years in controls programming, industrial automation, or related roles.
Advanced experience with Beckhoff TwinCAT Structured Text programming.
Experience leading safety controls design (HAZOP) and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

Lead design, development, testing, and release of PLC logic using IEC 61131-3 languages, primarily Beckhoff TwinCAT Structured Text.
Define controls architecture, software standards, reusable modules, and automation frameworks across ALD equipment.
Develop scalable automation solutions improving reliability and maintainability of products.
Drive software architecture decisions and establish best practices for controls programming and system integration.
Lead safety reviews, SAFETY interlocks, alarms, HMIs, and compliance with SEMI/ISA standards.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across multiple automation projects.
Oversee commissioning, field support, and continuous improvement of control systems.
