Job summary

Forge Nano seeks a driven Controls Engineer I to join the Engineering Design and Manufacturing Team. You will help develop, test, document, commission, and troubleshoot automation systems for semiconductor ALD production equipment, collaborating with multiple engineering groups.

You’ll gain expertise in industrial automation, contribute to software and hardware integration, and support process optimization through hands-on programming, testing, and technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline.
• 0–2 years in controls programming, automation, or related field.
• Foundational knowledge of PLC programming, HMIs, and electrical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and debug PLC logic using IEC 61131-3 languages.
• Assist with TwinCAT programming and software implementation.
• Support software development for automation and control systems.
• Contribute to software design reviews and tasks under senior engineers.
• Assist with machine safety interlocks and validation activities.
• Document software specs, narratives, alarms, and SOPs.
