Job summary

Forge Nano Inc. is seeking an Application Engineer I to support the commercialization of ALD equipment and processes. You will assist with engineering design, testing, documentation, and customer-facing deliverables under senior engineers' guidance.

You will help prepare PFDs, P&IDs, SOPs, and manuals, while collecting and analyzing data to drive validation and deployment of Forge Nano technologies. This is an on-site role with cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field.
• 1–3 years of engineering experience, including internships, co-op assignments, research projects, or relevant academic experience.
• Exposure to process equipment, vacuum systems, manufacturing systems, or related technologies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to analyze technical data and communicate findings effectively.
• Proficiency with standard engineering software tools and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of: Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, Engineering Specifications, Equipment Manuals, SOPs, and Customer-Facing Technical Documentation.
• Support the development of engineering documentation required for equipment design, manufacturing, commissioning, and customer acceptance.
• Maintain accurate records of engineering activities, testing results, and project documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure technical documentation is complete, accurate, and up to date.
• Support equipment testing, validation, and commissioning activities under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Assist with FAT, equipment build activities, and system verification efforts.
• Collect, organize, and analyze process and equipment performance data.
• Document observations and communicate technical findings to project and engineering teams.
• Support process troubleshooting and root cause investigations related to equipment and process performance.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support customer-facing engineering activities by assisting with technical presentations, reports, and documentation packages.
• Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to support project execution and customer deliverables.
• Assist senior engineers in resolving technical issues and responding to customer inquiries.
• Support project timelines through effective communication, documentation, and task execution.
