Job summary

Polar Semiconductor Inc. seeks a Process Engineer in Bloomington, MN to drive process improvements in semiconductor manufacturing. You will analyze failed runs, support equipment qualification, and develop new tools to improve yield and efficiency.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in a related field, knowledge of SPC and Six-Sigma, strong communication, and proficiency in technical writing. Expect cross-functional collaboration and a focus on quality and cost reduction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or related field.
• Knowledge of semiconductor processing techniques and statistics.
• Working knowledge of SPC, Gage R&R, and Six-Sigma methodology.
• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) with multiple functions and manufacturing sections.
• Skills in technical writing, computers, problem solving and organization.

Responsibilities

• Disposition discrepant material in timely manner and respond to high priority holds.
• Maintain recipes that are reliable and accurate.
• Support manufacturing teams with equipment qualification and new tool startups.
• Be responsive to out of control events and react quickly with process groups.
• Assist in the development of key technologies.
• Support projects to drive continuous improvement in yield, operational efficiency, and cost.
• Facilitate training for technicians and production specialists.
• Analyze failed runs to identify the source of process errors and recommend process changes.
