Job summary

Polar Semiconductor in Bloomington, MN seeks an Industrial Engineer to continuously evaluate and improve manufacturing processes, ensuring labor, equipment and processes are measured, controlled and operating at optimum capacity.

You will collaborate with operators, engineers and planners to improve throughput, reduce cycle time variation and drive cost efficient scheduling while maintaining quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering with related experience.
• Experience in lean manufacturing and pull systems.
• Knowledge of capacity, productivity, manufacturing processes and product costing.
• Strong verbal and written communication; collaborative skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Microsoft Office proficiency; AutoCAD skills desired.

Responsibilities

• Engaged with the development, maintenance and communication of the capacity statement associated with the production plan and its future forecasts.
• Identify and communicate operational performance, highlighting operational achievements and shortcomings.
• Work with operators, equipment engineers to improve throughput and mitigate constraints with strong analytical skills.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities; reduce cycle time variation and improve production output.
• Improve scheduling systems to drive down costs and minimize interruptions while increasing throughput.
• Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes by ensuring labor, equipment and processes are measured and optimized.
• Understand process flow, lean manufacturing and labor interaction with material flow to reduce waste.
• Assist in manufacturing layout driving optimal space utilization, logistics and workflow.
