Job summary

Polar Semiconductor in Bloomington, MN, is seeking a yield-focused process engineer to sustain and improve die yield in semiconductor manufacturing. You will optimize equipment and processes, monitor parameters, and collaborate across design, process, test, reliability, and fabrication teams to solve production problems and reduce costs.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or Physics, 3–5 years of related experience, and strong analytical

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related field.
• 3–5 years of directly related experience preferred.
• Knowledge of CMOS, DMOS, Bipolar, and Discrete semiconductor devices.
• Skills in problem solving, organization, and statistical analysis.
• Experience with yield analysis and data-driven decision making.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Collaborative team player with the ability across multiple functions.
• Experience interacting with customers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Sustain current processes to achieve die yield goals.
• Monitor current processes to ensure process complies with necessary parameters and provides a base line for any necessary process enhancements.
• Drive manufacturing to improve yields by improving electrical distributions and levels of defectivity.
• Coordinate work with customers and internal manufacturing to improve die yield and reliability.
• Manage new product introduction and production support engineering for a specific product or group of products after transfer from design to production.
• Interface with design, process, test, reliability and manufacturing engineering to solve product issues and production problems.
• Develop and sustain process improvements to reduce production costs and increase yields.
• Other duties as assigned
