Job summary

Polar Semiconductor in Bloomington, MN seeks an engineering professional to sustain and improve die yield in semiconductor manufacturing. You will ensure processes are optimized, monitored, controlled, and reliable, working across design, process, test, reliability and manufacturing teams.

The role emphasizes solving production problems, driving yield improvements, and coordinating with customers. A strong background in CMOS/DMOS devices and data-driven decision making is valuable for success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or related field.
  • 3–5 years’ related experience preferred; strong recent graduates will be considered.
  • Significant knowledge of CMOS, DMOS, Bipolar and Discrete semiconductor devices.
  • Skills in problem solving, organization and statistical analysis.
  • Experience with yield analysis and data-driven decision making.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Collaborative team player able to work across multiple functions.
  • Experience interacting with customers or supporting customer technical discussions is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Sustain current processes to achieve die yield goals and monitor for necessary enhancements.
  • Drive manufacturing to improve yields by improving electrical distributions and defectivity levels.
  • Coordinate work with customers and internal manufacturing to improve die yield and reliability.
  • Manage new product introduction and production support engineering after transfer from design to production.
  • Interface with design, process, test, reliability and manufacturing engineering to solve product issues.
  • Develop and sustain process improvements to reduce production costs and increase yields.
  • Other duties as assigned.
