Job summary

Select Sires, Inc. in Plain City, OH is seeking a Semen Processing Intern for our Plain City facility.

This temporary full-time, hourly, non-exempt position reports to the Manager of Semen Processing and Quality Control. Duties include initial semen evaluation and processing; sterilization of glassware and lab equipment; transportation of semen; semen quality control evaluations; extender preparation; and assisting with research projects.

Qualifications

• Open to all undergraduate students studying animal/dairy science or a related scientific field.
• Prefer entering junior or senior year; graduates continuing in a pertinent field will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Initial semen evaluation and processing; sterilization of glassware and lab equipment.
• Transportation of semen.
• Perform semen quality control evaluations; extender preparation; general lab maintenance; and administrative tasks.
• Assist with research projects and sample preparation/analysis.
• Development and execution of an independent research project is possible but not required.
