Job summary

The NYS Office for People With Developmental Disabilities is seeking a Program Operations Specialist 1 (POS1) for Region 1 Self-Direction. You will manage an assigned caseload, coordinate with Care Managers, Brokers, and Fiscal Intermediaries, and monitor budgets and approvals to support Self-Direction services across Western New York and Finger Lakes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a human services field.
• For Trainee 2: one year of experience in a federal or state certified human service program involving planning, coordinating, monitoring or evaluating services for people with developmental disabilities.
• For Program Operations Specialist 1: two years of experience in a federal or state certified human service program, with one year in a professional administrative position involving information gathering and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Function as the RFO Point of Contact for active Self-Direction participants, with primary responsibility for an assigned caseload.
• Assist Care Managers with linkage to Brokers and Fiscal Intermediaries for new Self-Direction authorizations.
• Complete fiscal and programmatic quality reviews of Self-Direction Budgets according to statewide policy, issuing approvals or denials.
• Maintain case notes reflecting changes made from previously approved budget submissions.
• Monitor CSS Approval SharePoint site for budgets submitted to Rate Setting for fiscal approval; follow up as needed.
