Job summary

SCO in New York seeks a Direct Support Professional to supervise individuals per treatment plans and participate in program planning meetings. You will ensure safety, maintain documentation and transport clients as required.

Role requires a valid NYS driver’s license, adherence to OPWDD regulations, and ongoing certification maintenance. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Clean NYS driver’s license required.
• Experience with developmental disabilities/traumatic brain injuries preferred.
• Background clearance through State Central Register and compliance with health regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide close supervision for individuals per treatment plan.
• Participate in program planning meetings and sign off on treatment plans.
• Maintain individuals' possessions and communicate needs to management; document accordingly.
• Transport individuals safely; maintain NYS vehicle logs and ensure comfort aboard.
• Maintain the facility and agency property in a clean, safe condition.
• Attend staff meetings, trainings and mandatory courses.
• Comply with OPWDD regulations and agency procedures.
• Obtain SCIP-R and AMAP certifications and maintain them.
