Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a Self-Checkout Ambassador to deliver fast, friendly service at the Front End. You will greet customers, guide them on using self-checkouts, and help maintain smooth transactions with accuracy and courtesy.

The role emphasizes customer engagement, adherence to Front End standards, and teamwork with store leadership. This position is aligned with Food Lion's service standards and store operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use their name whenever possible.
• Assist customers on how to use Self-checkouts properly including use of the hand scanner for a Fast and Easy checkout experience.
• Respond timely to customer inquiries and self-checkout system notifications.
• Monitor multiple self-checkouts for proper customer usage including the scanning of all items and the accurate scanning of each item.
• Remain courteous and helpful to other associates and customers.
