Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a Self-Checkout Ambassador to provide fast, friendly service at the front end. You will greet customers, assist with self-checkout, and monitor kiosks to ensure accurate scanning and smooth transactions.

The role emphasizes a courteous, team-oriented approach, adherence to Food Lion procedures, and reliable performance in a fast-paced store environment. Training and uniform are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Must meet minimum age requirements.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use their name when possible.
• Assist customers on how to use Self-checkouts including hand scanner use for a Fast and Easy checkout experience.
• Respond timely to customer inquiries and self-checkout system notifications.
• Monitor multiple self-checkouts for proper customer usage and accurate item scanning.
• Maintain a neat and clean self-checkout area in accordance with Front End standards.
• Follow procedures for checks, coupons and payment processing at self-checkout.
• Complete self-checkout voids and age-restricted item verifications as required.
• Report any self-checkout issues to the Customer Service Manager or MOD.
