Sprouts Farmers Market in Visalia, CA is seeking a Self-Checkout Host to deliver fast, friendly service while customers scan and pay for their items. You will oversee self-checkout lanes, assist with scanning, weighing, bagging, and paying, and help customers troubleshoot issues to keep lines moving in a busy store.

The role requires reliability, a high school diploma or GED, and 1–2 years of cashier experience. Evening/weekend shifts are common.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience in a retail, customer service, or sales environment; 1-2 years of cashier experience preferred.
• Have a positive attitude and the ability to interact positively with customers
• Be able to operate front-end equipment; register, calculator, scanner
• Be dependable with a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Have good communication skills and the ability to take direction and work in a team
• Able to lift/carry up to 30 lbs. and move carts as needed
• Strong attention to detail and proficiency with numbers; cash handling skills

Responsibilities

• Oversee self-checkout units, ensuring complete customer satisfaction through prompt and friendly service.
• Assist customers as they scan, weigh, bag and pay for their own items, ensuring a smooth and seamless process.
• Serve multiple customers at once and anticipate issues before they occur.
• Answer questions and assist with issues (large items, scanning/weighing issues, payment issues).
• Monitor scanning activity to ensure scanning accuracy.
• Invite Sprouts customers to use self-checkout lanes, especially if lines are forming in other lanes.
• Maintain knowledge of weekly ad items, promotions and events; provide direction of product location throughout the store.
• Ensure self-checkout areas are clean and orderly, and perform related duties.
• Thank customers as they leave the self-checkout area.
