Job summary

Food Lion in Atlantic Beach, NC is seeking a Front End Associate to deliver fast, friendly service, greet customers by name when possible, and support the Customer Service Manager in maintaining high standards across self-checkout areas.

You will assist customers with self-checkout usage, ensure accurate scanning, handle payments, keep the area clean and organized, follow safety guidelines, learn multiple tasks, and contribute to a positive shopping experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience
• Greet each customer and uses their name whenever possible
• Assist customers on how to use Self-checkouts properly including use of the hand scanner for a Fast and Easy checkout experience
• Respond timely to customer inquiries and self-checkout system notifications
• Monitor multiple self-checkouts for proper customer usage including the scanning of all items and the accurate scanning of each item
• Remind customers of items located on the bottom of the cart or items under baby seats prior to them completing the transaction
