Job summary

Weber School District's Roy Junior High seeks a SEL Special Education Paraprofessional to assist the SEL teacher and related staff in instructional and non-instructional activities for students with significant behavioral disabilities. The role focuses on implementing behavior supports, data collection, and classroom strategies to promote positive student outcomes.

The role is 5.75 hours per day (28.75 hours/week), 180 days, non-exempt, with retirement and partial leave benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to assume and maintain varied postures for extended periods.
• Must be able to drive district vehicles to transport students as needed.
• Must be willing to participate in Mandt training and safety procedures.
• Experience working with students with behavioral needs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize safe procedures when managing students with challenging behavior.
• Interpret and implement written behavior plans.
• Model positive behavior supports for students.
• Collect data on student behaviors and inform instructional modifications.
• Collaborate with school staff to provide effective instruction and support.
